Who are Real Shot?

So who are Real Shot? Well, we are the creative team at Imagini, a tiny but almighty team!

At Imagini, our mission is to build up a database of VisualDNA. Our users profile themselves using fun picture quizzes. Which is where we come in.

Our job involves carefully editing, tweaking, debating, discussing and selecting the images which appear in each of the questions in our visual quizzes .
These quizzes are then made available to the world via Youniverse.com and our partner sites where thousands of people click through and profile themselves by picking images that best represent who they are. All these choices are then sucked up, analysed and spat back out by all the clever science types in the Imagini Analytics team and this information is used to show the trends, believes, needs, desires and aspirations – or VisualDNA as we like to call it - of everybody out there.

We love our job, it oozes creativity and brain power, but at times we find ourselves stumped with the image stock libraries. Trying to find an image that expresses the right mood or feeling can be tough. We want to capture real life, not the saccharine world of airbrushed stock photos.

That is why we’ve thrown in our collective towel, rolled up our sleeves and said …you know what? Let’s build our own library of real photos that show life as it is. So here we are, asking you to be a part of something amazing… The Real Shot Photography Competition- great for us…and even better for you!

At the minute there’s three of us on the team, all girls don’t you know, and we all come from different backgrounds within the creative sector, product design, sculpture and graphics to name a few. We love living in London and Brighton, with our eyes peeled and our senses finely tuned, being inspired by the world around us. That’s why we’re the Imagini image extra-specialists! (try saying that after a shandy or two!)

Other duties involve selecting products for VisualDNA Shops, helping the science bods to understand you , daydreaming, making endless cups of tea, and laughing A LOT.
Job hazards…. picking lots of images with stunning scenery makes us fantasise about going on our hols…and food pics just make us hungry.

We once secretly devised a plan to get the whole office to eat fish and chips one afternoon-all that was needed was a picture of the yummiest looking fish in batter we could find, with chunky vinegar smothered chips…emailed that round the office with no words at all, and then tah-dah! En-mass movement towards the local chippie. The power of images!
